It's like sailing through butter. Sometimes it's frozen, and sometimes it's melty, and usually it's right in-between, where you can slip through and back and forth without much resistance but still feeling like you're getting somewhere. It's the pushback at the edges, where you can see really well because you're not looking too hard. The air is solid! Cut through it like the prow-l of a shift. Get to another island: that's life, alone on a boat, going through vast expanses, weathering the turbulent surface, hoping the monsters beneath don't get you while you flit from one oasis to the next.

The other night I was taking a ten-block run through town. I really like the addition of the cages full of toy balls every block (though we need to hire a re-inflator). But on one one of the corners there was a switchover point, enclosed in a little porch. I saw a few well-dressed people putting their children to bed there, right on the street corner. They looked like they were dressed up to go to some formal ball, and they were just going to leave their kids there, because they didn't have any other place to live. I don't think I would have been able to sleep. I mean, it was still daylight.

Travel Issues

Who put those street signs up in the woods? Why do they keep changing around? Traffic was terrible. I hope that glitch is fixed soon. Or not. Whatever. I think I can find another way to get to 4th street besides driving through the pine tree paths.

Why is the airport parking lot full of water every hour?! It is NOT an appealing aesthetic addition to the big fountain in the lake next to the airport! It is a NUISANCE! My feet got all wet. I've never seen that part of the airport before, either -- is that new? It's a mess, is what it is. "Beyond the Terminals" my Aunt Fanny. And anyway, I was supposed to be at the train station.

Nice to see that the patio of the Ellwood apartments is still such a rats'-nest.

Yes, it was a stressful night. But I got to smoke cigarettes!!! And you know that can't be bad.

It's obvious that they didn't check very carefully, isn't it? Since there's already a very fine magazine called the Grim!!! We here on the Grim's staff don't mind sharing the title...as long as they don't come out with their own magazine...god damnit...'cause the Grim was here first. Long before them. What gets me is that now WE'LL probably get accused of stealing the name.

It just struck me that no issues have made it through the Spiral in quite awhile. We'll have to see about that.

If you could see what was going on in Ian's lab, you would be both amazed and amuzed. (You'd even continue to spell it like that for the rest of your life.) I'm going to get away from the computer now, and grab the video camera, just to catch the festivities. It's a typical Saturday night here at the Manor, with SHENANIGANS and TOMFOOLERY ad absurdum!!! Why, there might even be some HORSEPLAY going on in the back yard -- yep, Medoc's up to his backyard rasslin' tricks again! Who just got it this time? Oooh...looks like Leesah and Donna gave it back to Medoc himself. That's gonna leave a mark.

It's a hazy morning here, I love to see the fog hanging around the buildings. They all look blue in the morning light, even the red ones have a kind of purple tinge, and the sky is THAT color. I love to watch the spirals rising and setting every day.

No, I'm not usually up at this hour. But S'Ferrin and I decided to head out for all-nite coffee when the house got all quiet last night, and here we are. He's buried in his new book, I'm contributing to the Internet. Doing totally different things together. Ahhhhhhh.

This makes the other place -- worth it. (Not that I'm about to do it again...!)

Official Decree

In observance of Happy Satan Day 6-6-6, we at Grimagix hereby add a new date to our calendar: Citizens may date their documents either 5/17/23 OR, once a year, on a day of their own choosing, are encouraged to use instead the official Satan Date of 6/6/6.
